Alicorne Broughton

* waltzes into the room and takes a seat at the desk* Good afternoon, my name's Annette *smiles at the new face seated nearby* *picks up a paper from on top of the massive mess on the desk* Now, just a few questions and you get to go on your way. Don't make this into a disagreeable experience, okay? *nods decisively* Let's start at the beginning. What's your name? I'd appreciate your full given name, *looks up expectantly* you know, first and last:

*watches her shyly* *well this is a change* *hasn't been on this side
of the question and answer process in a long time* *it's a bit awkward*
It's Alethea Broughton. *probably isn't going to say much either* *sorry*

*nods* Alright *scribbles the name and a few stick figures on the paper* *snatches it out of view* Do you have a name of sorts that you'd rather be called? *to herself* I prefer my real name, but hey, to each his own. *looks over with a bemused smile on her face* And, how'd you get that particular nickname?:

Well, yes, I do. Most of my friends call me Alicorne, or Ali for short. It's just a nickname my father used to call me sometimes when I was a
little girl I liked it. I think it means unicorn, and you can't go wrong with unicorns, can you?

*smirks* Cute, real cute *snickers a little* So, how old are ya, huh? And on what day will you be turning a another year older?:

*squirms a little* *this is awfully embarrassing* I'm 20.. . getting kind of old, I guess. I'll be 21 on May 28. *nods*

*raises her eyebrows* That's a decent time of year *casts a furitive glance at out the window* So, now where were we? *looks over the paper, now riddled with stick figures and curly handwriting* Oh, yes, your looks. *nods* Now, don't give me a hard time, just tell me what you look like. *puts her pen to the paper expectantly* You know, like eye and hair colour, height, and all that other stuff. Pretend I'm blind, okay?:

*wow . . . so this is what it's like to be back on the other end of this question* Um. Well, okay, I've got long blondish hair and my eyes are
green and I guess I'm kind of tall? *is about 5'9"* *has long, wavy, sandy blonde hair and usually keeps it tied back in a braid* *has pale skin and a few freckles* *keeps herself pretty well-kept* *wears a blue skirt and white blouse that are a bit worn but still clean and tidy* *is pretty slender and attractive enough* *has a bit of a sweet and innocent look about her and could probably get away with quite a lot because of it* *she
doesn't typically try to use that to her advantage though*

*raises eyebrows* Sure, if that's what you say.*shakes head in disbelief* What's your personality like? *looks you over* i mean, are you mean, nice, whatever? How're you going to get along here?:

*sighs and thinks this question over a little* Well, I don't talk a lot sometimes. It takes a while for me to get used to people. *is a bit
shy until she gets to know omeone* I'm nice though, I guess. I mean,
I'm not going to . . . well, I'm friendly enough. *has a temper on her* *can be a little fireball when those close to her are hurt* *is protective of people* Um . . . I like to read a lot. *is a bit of a romantic and an idealist* I think that's about all. *avoids confrontations a lot* *doesn't like to admit when she needs help* *and is pretty critical of herself sometimes*

*sighs* Got'cha, you really think that, eh? *draw a little more on the paper* Everyone gets mad about this one, but if you give me a hard time, I will not hesitate to hurt you. *narrows eyes* How'd you get here and what your story? Enthrall me.:

Oh, my. *gives a short, not quite humorous, laugh* Well, I'm from the Ravenswood Lodging House. I've been there for years. *thinks* About five years, I guess, ever since I came here from Boston. *came here when her father was remarrying to look for her mother* *she was dead so that didn't work out and won't go into the whole thing* I was one of the people
in charge over at Ravenswood, apparently. *and was terrible at it,
obviously, or the house wouldn'¦t have burned down* Then the house caught on fire and . . . well. . . that's that, I guess. We're going to try to rebuild it but . . . *shrugs* That might be kind of hard. So, for now at least, we're scattered to the four winds. I'm sorry to intrude. I wanted to stay kind of close to the area.

*clasps hands and grins evilly* My favorite! *giggles* So, who are the people in your life? Family, friends *snickers* boyfriends? *looks up happily* Tell me everything.:

*eh* Oh. Well . . . *blushes* My family is back in Boston. Well,
except an uncle who's here in New York but he's . . . a bit different.
Nice, just . . . different. And most of my friends were at Ravenswood. As for the . . . well, that would be Picks Hewitt. He's . . . yeah.
*blushes again* *next question now please*

Well, we've come to the last question. *nods* Then I can go out to the candy shop and get myself a phosphate *looks out the window again* So, anything else we oughta know about you?:

*thinks and shakes her head* Well, I don't know. I think I've pretty
much covered it. I mean, I guess some of the other lodgers from Ravenswood might show up, I don't know. And a few might pop in to visit, but I doubt it. They'll all probably just do their own thing now. *shrugs* But . . . Well, thank you for letting me stay. I appreciate it a lot, and I'll try not to be a bother . . . really.
